Emily Doobay (she/her)

Registered Social Worker

I am a registered Social Worker and have been in the field of Social Work practice for 15 years working with children and families in Ontario. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Waterloo Ontario; and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Western Ontario. I am a registered member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

Integral to my Social Work practice is working from a strength-based approach to create a welcoming, compassionate and non-judgmental environment. I believe in meeting clients where they are at and helping them build the necessary skills to achieve goals and positive outcomes.

My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, calming and comfortable space to feel heard, validated and seen. I come to the table with a kind heart and a focused mind. I am compassionate and honest with all my clients. I will hold space for you and sit with you in difficult moments because sometimes it's just knowing we aren’t alone and someone sees us.

Through my experience working with children and families, I practice from an eclectic approach by incorporating modalities such as CBT, DBT, Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy. My area of focus is supporting children who may be experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, Autism, self-esteem, parent/child conflict, divorce/custody and access, emotional dysregulation, and parenting support.

In my personal time, I enjoy practicing yoga, traveling and spending time with my family.
