Mais Haj-Ayoub (she/her)
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Hello, I’m Mais, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO). Recognizing how deeply our mental well-being affects every aspect of our lives, I’ve developed a deep passion for helping people along their journey of self-discovery and healing.
I have experience supporting individuals across diverse backgrounds, and primarily work with children, teens, and young adults. My involvement with organizations such as Family and Children's Services, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Kids Help Phone has deepened my passion for supporting children and adolescents in growing and achieving their goals. I greatly value the creativity, resilience, and intelligence that young individuals bring to therapy.
Taking the first step toward therapy isn’t always easy, but it’s a sign of strength, hope, and change. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you or your child feels heard, validated, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
My approach to therapy is warm, relational, and strengths-based. I draw on modalities such as solution-focused, cognitive-behavioural, play-informed, and narrative therapy, tailoring my approach to best suit your or your child’s individual needs and goals. My area of focus includes support with challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, and relationship/family challenges.
Outside of therapy, I love reading fiction novels, watching reality TV, and spending time with friends and family.
