Sarah Moore (she/her)
Registered Social Worker
Hello! My name is Sarah Moore, I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). I completed my Master of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University and have an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
My 15 years of experience in social services has fueled my passion for supporting vulnerable individuals through case management and counselling. I am passionate about empowering you while we navigate through your challenges.
As an EMDR therapist I approach my work with deep empathy, warmth, and compassion, genuinely seeking to understand what it feels like to be in your shoes. I truly believe that the connection we build in our therapeutic relationship is vital for fostering change and healing. It’s so important to me that you feel safe and free from judgment as we explore your emotions together.
My goal is to create a space that is not only respectful but also open and self-aware, where you can be your true self. I am here to listen deeply, support you wholeheartedly, encourage you, and gently challenge you as we work together to achieve your goals. I believe in using a variety of therapeutic approaches to ensure that the care you receive is uniquely tailored to your individual needs and aspirations.
Growing up in poverty, I truly understand what it feels like to experience the many challenges, neglect, and abandonment. There were times when my emotional needs for love and belonging felt unfulfilled, leading to struggles with low self-worth, anxiety, and depression. I’ve faced challenges in my relationships, battled OCD, dealt with disordered eating, and found myself caught in unhealthy cycles. However, I’ve worked hard to overcome these obstacles and am genuinely excited to support you on your journey toward healing and growth!
I'm passionate about healthy living, and you'll often catch me out and about with my rescue doggos, exploring new hiking trails, biking around, or hitting the gym. Cooking is another favorite hobby of mine, and I'm always excited to try out new recipes! In my downtime, you can usually find me lost in a good fiction novel or soaking up the sun at the beach. I love to laugh and believe in not taking life too seriously!
Thanks for taking a moment to learn a bit about me. I'm really looking forward to seeing how I can support you on your journey!
